Raiser opening gig!
17/November/2010
Hello there all! We're making a good start as Raiser 2.0 (I
promise that this will be the last time I use that version number, don't worry!)
and we're ready to hit the stages again with our first gig including vocalist
Sander and guitarist Iwan. We can't wait to show you what's in store for the
future so come down to Purmerend (NH) to check us out at Rockcafe
Satisfaction. The support
act/play times will be announced later this week so stay tuned. Hope to see you
there!
Guess who's back on track!
25/Sept/2010
That's
right! We're currently NOT looking for a guitarist or a vocalist ANYMORE. You
read it correctly; We found a new guitarist and a new vocalist! We will
introduce them in a short while so please be patient a little longer. We can
share one little secret with you though; they ROCK! While we will be playing the
old songs, we do have to adjust to the different vocal style of our new
vocalist. Let's just say we're going to toughen up a notch, or maybe two or
three. So make sure to check out the band page in a few days and stay tuned for
more news to come! Until then my thrashing friends...
Stonehenge and MuzyQ
21/July/2010
On July 31 we will be playing at café
De Zwetser for the
afterparty of Stonehenge Festival, a greatly acclaimed metal festival in the city of
Steenwijk. Beautiful story on how the Stonehenge festival came to what it is
today by the way. Have a look on their website. Anyway, we will be celebrating
with a lot of metal classics and covers for you to sing along with, so don't
miss the party.
In other news, we could have been playing on the stage of MuzyQ, Amsterdam. A
band competition will take place on several fridays. Unfortunately we had to
cancel the gig because of personal problems with one of the members. We hope
they have another date in store for us. I'll keep you updated online.
Band photos for reals!
26/June/2010
Check out the Press-page and take a look at our high
quality band photos! It was pretty gloomy weather during the shoot, but that's
what The Netherlands is famous for... Under a pale grey sky!
The 19th of June we played in a venue called The Tumult in Abcoude. It was a big
show with a total of four bands. We played last, but due to some technical
difficulties we played later than expected. To those who were there; thanks for
staying up late. For those who left; don't worry, you won't get off that easily!
Next show is at the 3th of July in Lelystad. It's at a festival called
Jolpop. See you there me hearties!
Band photos! Introducing Michiel!
31/May/2010
Next sunday we will take some (hopefully)
awesome kick-ass pictures. We hired a good friend, fellow metalhead and
ex-musician Andre Seesink. I'm sure it will turn out perfect.
This also gives us the opportunity to introduce you to our new guitarist
Michiel. Check out his profile on the band-page. And stay tuned for some cool
pictures.
Remy leaving Raiser
08/May/2010
Our guitarist Remy has decided to leave Raiser. This is
mainly because of the difference in taste and style of our music. We've had lots
of great times, from the crazy backyard party, straight through the binge
drinking in Schijndel, to the laughs at the band competition in Amsterdam. So as
a final cliché we wish Remy nothing but the best and we hope he can find a band
that truly fits him. Come see him play with Raiser for one last time on the 19th
of June in Abcoude, to give out your final salutations!
What this means for us is that we're currently recruiting a new guitarist. Are
you that shredding thrash-maniac that Raiser needs? Drop us an e-mail at
info@raiserband.nl
The end of the band competition 07/Apr/2010
Make More Music bandcompetition 2010 has
ended for us in Heeren van Aemstel. We lost to a band called Two Way Radio, a
hysterical group with 3 female vocalists. They definitely had their own thing
going (a little too much if you ask me) but that's the way the cookie crumbles.
Bands we enjoyed personally are The Q! and Alter Ego.
The harsh, concluding words of the judge about the winners were "It was not hard
for us, not hard at all. There was only one band who had rock 'n roll and only
one band who had it all.". Some words to take home! We played one hell of a set
but metal is not really at home at these competitions I guess. We had a great
time nonetheless and would like to thank Make More Music for the great evening
and the opportunity.
Keep supporting guys, we'll be playing...
Raiser featured in Havana
31/Mar/2010
Havana, a weekly mag for the Hogeschool van Amsterdam has placed an
article about us. Check it out right
here. The article is in
Dutch. Check out the Forum for an english translation!
Schijndel & Nijmegen
31/Mar/2010
While we were a little sceptic about Holy
Cow, Schijndel because of the non-metal agenda, it turned out great. The people
were not a raging pit of metalheads but they did appreciate our music, and we've
recieved some kind words after the show. All in all it was a fun place to play
and while we didn't give our best set, we think the gig was a success! In
Backstage, Nijmegen we really felt at home. A great metalcafé with awesome
folks. These are the times you remember what you're doing it for. Thanks for all
the support guys! Both Schijndel, Nijmegen and every Raiser-fan out there. Let's
bring back thrash for good!

demo into a physical jewel case as soon as possible so we can distribute the
demo to the right people. The demo will also be available for you. More info on
this later.
Enter the studio 22/Feb/2010
Wednesday is the day! We will record 4
songs for the new version of the demo; The Beginning of the End, Raiser, Crisis
Arise and World of Hate. The whole thing will be recorded in just 1 day. The
mixing will be done afterwards. We'll try to keep you updated on the things
happening. For now we have to focus on mastering the songs as perfect as
possible on our instruments. We hope it will sound amazing!
Album art finished!
17/Feb/2010
A step in the right direction! Today we recieved the final
version of the album cover for our upcoming demo "Raise The Flag". The art is
done by
Jeff Gaither who has done
artwork for bands like Testament, Municipal Waste and Van Halen. It was great to
work with him. We hope you like it as much as we do. Let us know what you think
on the forums!
It's time to get serious...
10/Feb/2010
This is it. This is the moment where it
will all come together; the re-recording of the demo. We're not satisfied with
the current results yet so we've planned to re-record the entire demo. Things
are coming together very quickly now and we have to focus. The artwork and
booklet designs are on their way as well and will be announced soon. We hope to
have everything together and online as soon as possible so we can then produce
and spread Raise The Flag in jewel case. We'll be recording the demo in a real
studio this time.

Demo Released: Raise The Flag
01/Jan/2010
Howdy-how and a happy new year! It's been a wild ride towards the release of our
demo! We recorded and "produced" the whole thing in just 2 days! And on Day 2 we
also took some band photos in Zaandam. With just a few takes, a couple of Shure
SM58's and a multitrack recorder, we did our best to present you a piece that
gives a good display of our music. No album art,
new logo or other
fancy stuff yet, just 5 high-quality MP3's for you to listen to. Here is the
download link:
Listen to the demo on
Myspace/Last.fm
or download on the
Media-page!
Raising the flag 15/Dec/2009
Greetings to you metalfans! Alot of things
are about to happen! First of all, we've got a new logo design that we will
announce in a short while. Oh noes, what to do with the old band stickers?!
We've also seen the first drawings of Jeff Gaither and are really excited about
the demo cover. We can also announce the title of our demo which will be RAISE
THE FLAG. It's about raising the flag for thrash metal once again because it has
been long gone in The Netherlands. Oh yeah, the music... I forgot! We've
got a photoshoot on 27 dec and we hit the "studio" (rehearsal room with mics and
amps really...) on 28 dec and we master the demo on 29 dec, all set for an
online release on 30 dec! Talking about last-minute!! Sheesh!
Update! We'll record it on 29 december, take the photoshoot on 30 december and
release the demo on the first of January on 00:01!!
Jeff Gaither 26/Nov/2009
Time for the next new update! We're currently still writing
songs for our first album and things go pretty smooth! We're also still working
on the demo and we expect the final version of the demo will come out before the
end of the year. The artwork will be done by
Jeff
Gaither who worked with bands like Testament,
Van Halen, Municipal Waste and Guns 'n Roses.
Drumming 09/Nov/2009
A quick update for the curious! On Sunday
we will be recording the drums for 2 or 3 songs for on the demo. We're not sure
yet how much songs will be on the demo but more on that later. Hope we can
record a good sound! Stay tuned folks...
Plans for the future
14/Oct/2009
It´s been a while since the last update!
Time for a new one. The question I ask myself, where are we now, what are the
plans for the future... I´ll do my best to answer these questions. We are
currently writing songs for the band and going through everyone´s riffs and
pieces. We only settle for the best! After this there will be alot of practice.
Practice until we drop! The plans for the near future are to record a solid
demo, but the costs are high and we aren´t exactly the richest people around,
but we also signed up for the Melodyline Band competition and hope we can crush
the competition to win some studio time! If we can´t win we won´t give up and do
the recording with my Zoom H2. Either way, have a bit more patience with us and
we will deliver one fucking thrashing solid demo like you haven´t heard before,
we promise. Jeff out.
Feestival info 09/Sep/2009
More info on FEESTIVAL has arrived! We will hit the stage
inside the tent (Let's hope it rains HARD! More people in that damn tent!) and
will play some of our most thrashy songs for you! This is not just another show,
but one to never forget, the debut concert of RAISER. Make sure you're there to
check us out! We'll start at around 5:25 PM and it's near the Central Station of
Zaandam. Check out their
website to find out how to
get there, or send Jeff an e-mail on
jeffrey@raiserband.nl. There is a prize to win,
so make sure your vote goes to RAISER!
Getting started 26/Nov/2009
Today we've tried three new songs. While
they didn't start off smoothly, the practice-sessions were a success. Especially
BEGINNING OF THE END was a blast. We will certainly play it on FEESTIVAL, the
Festival in Zaandam where we will be on 12 september. Beside our own songs we
also have a few covers in mind. Keep checking the site for the latest info on
it. We'll hear more about the time on 8 September. Make sure to pay us a visit.
Finally... some good 'ol metal on the stages!
New guitarist 07/Aug/2009
Yeah that's right! We found ourselves a new guitarist. His name is
Remy and he is 18 years old. Very cool guy with amazing shred skills. With his
passion for Thrash Metal and his awesome Angel Of Deth guitar he is the perfect
choice after months of searching. Welcome to RAISER! Thrash 'till death! Want to
read more about Remy? Check out the BAND-page!
